Q. Can this really be legal?
A. We fill out the application forms required to process your application. We are submitting the details you provide to the issuing department acting on these details. You don´t need you to lie on the forms! Just give us the information required. We are exploiting a legal loophole but it is legal for the moment. This may change at anytime!
Q. How much does it cost?
A. Anywhere between 400 Euros to 600 Euros depending on your choice of application process, you may want the full exchange service for your native country (see Payment Page).
Q. Does it come with a paper counterpart?
A. Yes. All E.U. licences come with a paper counterpart.
Q. Are you selling driving licences then?
A. No we are providing a service under community exchange rules.
Q. Could I get into trouble obtaining a licence from you this way if I was ever discovered?
A. Technically neither party is breaking the law! You are applying for help to obtain a licence legally and we are following legal procedures in the countries we are applying through. However, if you are on a driving ban then you must assume the responsibility.
Q. Can I obtain the licence in any name?
A. We require a photocopy of some ID to process the application. However, if you apply through us, to a non E.U. country for a temporary licence having had your licence lost/mislaid/stolen it is possible to obtain a licence without showing your ID. You simply need to check box A "Outside the E.U Temporary Driving Licence" on the application form. You must tick the box on the application form that you have had your drivers licence lost/mislaid/stolen.
Q. Can I change my name legally so as to obtain a licence in a different name? The object being to avoid my driving history coming up on a police roadside check.
A. You can complete a name change form (UK citizens using a Deed Pole form). You will then receive a certificate. You can even apply for a passport in your new name; your current driving history is not transferred to your new name.
Q. What countries are available?
A. Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, and Slovenia. Once you have E.U. licence you can exchange it yourself with your choice of country or we can provide you with this service.
Q. Can I still get an E.U. licence if I only have a provisional licence?
A. When we make the application process we only submit partial information from your driving licence for the forms we have to fill out. They do not ask for full information of the licence. The countries we apply to are not as sophisticated as the UK for example.
Q. My licence has expired can I still apply for a new E.U. licence?
A. We have two options we can submit the details from your old licence giving only partial information which is what we normally do. The driving departments we apply through are not very thorough and do not even contact the relevant authorities which is why we are able to apply so freely. The second option involves applying for a temprary driving licence outside the E.U. with a sworn declaration that you have had your licence lost/stolen/mislaid. Then having obtained the temporary licence we can then apply for an E.U. licence.
Q. I have mislaid my licence, can you still get me a licence?
Yes, as long as you sign a sworn declaration (see form page) that you have had it lost/stolen/mislaid we then apply on your behalf for the temporary licence and we will apply for a temporary driving licence outside the E.U. Your sworn declaration is translated, stamped, and attached to the application together with your translated self declaration of the entitlements.
Q. I have mislaid my licence and do not have any details about my licence number etc?
A. In this circumstance we use an additional procedure to obtain a temporary licence in a country outside the E.U. We sometimes we use African or South American countries as they possess more lenient processes in the application phase.
Q. I cannot scan my photo can I post it to you?
A. We would prefer you to scan your photo, signature, and, depending on your application, a photocopy of some id and email it to us. It is only in extreme cases that we take an application by post. The reason for this is that on completion of the online application the data is transferred on to our Data Base. If you are extremely computer illiterate then as a last resort send us an email explaining that you need help: giving us all your contact information.
Q. Can I put extra categories such as motor cycle entitlement or HGV on the genuine licence?
A. Yes you may choose what categories you wish to have on your licence, but please don´t declare to us that you don´t hold these entitlements if you are speaking with one our agents.
Q. Why haven't you been shut down by the Police?
A. We are by definition working within grey areas! It is the nature of the aforementioned loophole which allows us to operate as we do. Whilst we do not expect the loophole to be everlasting we are confident that we are working safely within the law!
Q. Are there any tests I need to complete such as theory?
No
Q. For how long can I drive on these licences in my home country?
A. You can drive on E.U. licences normally for ten years when you must contact the relevant issuing department for a renewal. Some countries insist that a driver change his/her licence after a certain period of time (see legal page)
Q. Wont the police ask questions if I get stopped with a foreign licence and that I am not a citizen of that country?
A. No there can be many reasons for holding a foreign issued licence; you may have exchanged it in preparation for a permanent move and then changed your mind for example!
Q. Will my details come up if checked and be valid on the relevant foreign government computer?
A. The licence is genuine and will pass all checks.
Q. Can I use this licence outside the E.U.?
Yes, they are recognised as official driving licences from all over the world.
E.U. licences are accepted worldwide unlike a licence from the USA where the holders of a state licence have to apply for an International Driving Permit to drive in Europe.
Q. I am originally from outside of the E.U. and hold my citizenship outside, can you still help?
Yes
Q. What about insurance premiums, do they change for foreign licence holders?
A. It is illegal for an insurer to discriminate against E.U. foreign licence holders. It is disallowed under the mutual recognition principle that applies to E.U. member states.
Q. Do I still get penalty points on a foreign licence?
A. Yes you can still be penalised on a foreign license!
